James Small is one of the country’s leading plastic surgeons. He is highly regarded among fellow plastic surgeons as a skilled and experienced operator.

James obtained an honours medical degree from the National University of Ireland in Galway and a fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – first place and medal in the primary examination.

He trained in plastic surgery in London, Belfast and the United States .During his training he gained valuable expertise and experience in plastic surgery working in London and during the course of a travelling fellowship to the United States. He spent a number of years working in Belfast during the troubles gaining expertise in reconstructive plastic surgery and micro-surgery. This broad and in depth training has made him an internationally recognized plastic surgeon publishing original articles regularly in national and international journals.

His patients find him courteous and easy to communicate with. He offers his patients understanding, time and sound professional advice regarding their surgery, assisting them in making a fully informed decision about their proposed procedure.
