Breast Augmentation Mastopexy

Our consultant Mr Nicholas Hodgins FRCS (Plast) describes the breast augmentation mastopexy procedure.

Augmentation mastopexy is a surgical procedure that combines both a breast augmentation and a breast lift. The goal of this surgery is to enhance breast size, shape, and position for a fuller and more youthful appearance. This procedure addresses both volume loss and sagging of the breasts. It is often indicated when an implant augmentation alone is unlikely to take up the excess slackened skin of a sagging breast or when the breast tissue itself is sitting too low on the chest wall.

Candidates for augmentation mastopexy include those with sagging or drooping breasts due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight fluctuations and those seeking to increase breast size whilst lifting and reshaping the breasts. Incisions and scars associated with this procedure typically are located around the areola, vertically down to the breast crease, and sometimes along the crease itself.

This results of this comprehensive breast enhancement procedure normally last for many years and patients can resume work and light activities after a couple of weeks.
