Andrew Robinson FRCS (Plast)
Mr Robinson graduated from Queens University Belfast in July 2006 with an honours degree achieving multiple distinctions throughout his undergraduate degree.
Mr Robinson’s postgraduate training included a year in Dundee prior to his higher surgical training in the Northern Ireland Plastic and Maxillofacial Unit. He obtained his FRCSEd (Plast) exam in September 2017 and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist training (CCT) in September 2018. He is on the specialist register of the GMC with a licence to practice. He has been a NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon since August 2019. He is a member of the British Association of the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Mr Robinson completed two specialist fellowships – one in Breast Microvascular Surgery in Southmead Hospital, Bristol and also another combined fellowship in Breast Microsurgery and Lower Limb and Major Trauma reconstruction in the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.
Mr Robinson has a varied NHS practice including breast reconstruction, lower limb trauma and skin cancer management. He works in the Major Trauma Centre delivering treatment to the most critically injured patients in the province.
Mr Robinson is a recognised surgical trainer with GMC and has an interest in medical education undertaking a part time Masters in Clinical Education (MSc) during his postgraduate training. He has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals and has presented work on both the national and international stage. He provides peer reviews for the main journal in Plastic Surgery.
Mr Robinson has a number of leadership roles within the NHS. Patient safety remains his number one goal and is he is focused on the achieving the best aesthetic and functional outcomes for all his patients.
