Inverted Nipple Correction

Our consultant Mr Nicholas Hodgins FRCS (Plast) describes the inverted nipple correction procedure.

This condition can affect one or both nipples and can be present from birth or develop later due to factors such as breastfeeding, trauma, or certain medical conditions. The goal of this surgery is to create a natural, outward projection of the nipple.

Incisions for this surgery are usually small and placed inconspicuously, leading to minimal scarring. The procedure involves releasing any fibrous bands or ducts that are pulling the nipple inward and placing internal sutures to maintain the newly released nipple projection.

Results are generally long-lasting and most patients can return to work and light activities within a few days to a week after surgery.
